I Want to Study in UI (University of Indonesia)!
“Wow, this school is very big. I want to study in here!”
Chandra and Kiki scream happily as they walk inside some areas in University of Indonesia, Depok, Mei 28th in 2010. Accompanied by some student from some faculty of University of Indonesia, MIPA (faculty of mathematics and science) and FIB (culture), those two kids walk around the campus that has a large and beautiful area.
First, they visit the park that is located near a river and inscribed with words which said Universitas Indonesia. This park can be seen from Margonda Street that’s head for Pasar Minggu. In this place, Chandra and Kiki are not really realized what kind of place is University of Indonesia. They are just jump around and tease each other.
But, as they move to another place, their eyes open. For example, in Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (faculty of culture), they are very excited when they see artificial temple. Then, they are also very enthusiastic with Texas Bridge. The name of this bridge come from the existence of faculty of culture at one side(sastra) and faculty of science at the other side (teknik). Seemly, at this red and artistic bridge, Kiki and Chandra’s enthusiasm are much bigger to study in UI, just like throwing their dreams to the air, between the wind and the beautiful view.
“Yes, I want to study in here. I promise to study hard and read books all the times.”
Everyone laugh as they hear those words. After visit Texas Bridge, they go to the lake. Unfortunately, in one side, that lake had covered with so much garbage since the lake is being visited with so many people especially in Monday and days of time off. Of course, that condition ruin the view. Fortunately, Chandra and Kiki’s dreams are not withdraw after seeing that bad situation. As the way back to home, they kept mention their dreams to study in UI. So enthusiastic. It can be seen from their faces and their steps.
If a few years ago, Daru had a dream to study in STM Grafika (a high school that has specialized in graph) and can make his own dream come true, it’s also not impossible for Kiki and Chandra’s dreams. Hopefully, their dreams will come true, too. Nothing is impossible, isn’t it?
